ILMPOSSIBLE- Take a Child to School Program (TACS) is an initiative of the British Council in all over Pakistan to bring back the out of school children to schools and to retain them for at least 3 years through active engagement of Youth ILMBASSADORs and Mohallah Committees. ILMPOSSIBLE – Take a Child to School Program is co-funded program of the British Council and Educate a Child (EAC). Program aims to enroll more than 130,000 out of school children all over Pakistan by trained & engaging 13,000 Active Citizens. PWS is implementing TACS project in 3 Districts of Punjab including (Layyah, Muzaffargarh and Jhang) to enroll more than 10,000 children by the end of 2016 under this program. Through this program PWS will not only enrolling these 10,000 out of school children but will be engaging with education department and local communities to retain these children school. PWS has formed 15 Mohallah Committees in these 3 districts to support enrolment and retention and to engage with duty bearers through schools’ advocacy plans. Govt. of Punjab has also supported these interventions in all three districts and is supporting to schools and communities to ensure retention and for solution to school level issues through school development plans. To ensure the retention of enrolled kids (DOSTI) life skill component is also offered to the selected schools under this program to raise the interest of students by engaging them in different sports & co-curricular activities.
