Local Rights Program
Local Rights Program is exclusively supported by Action Aid Pakistan since 2004 and has focused on the thematic areas of Food, Hunger and Livelihood, Climate Resilient Sustainable Agriculture, Health and HIV/AIDs, Education, Child Rights, Governance and Democracy, Women Rights, Women Economic Empowerment, Community Physical Infrastructure and Environment. From 2013 Local Rights Program has focused on 2 country change promises of Quality Education through innovative financing and Women Economic Empowerment. This project is being implemented in 3 union councils of Tehsil Choubara district Layyah namely Nawan Kot, Kheray Wala and Choubara where different economic alternative models are developed, communities are capacitated and they are leading with their village development plans. Communities have successfully implemented their village rights action plans and got success through community development in their villages that include approval of schools, veterinary hospital, increase in literacy rate, infrastructure improvement e.g water courses, link roads, forestry schemes, tube wells, hand pumps, public toilets and skills improvement for better livelihood opportunities.
